In the early’00′s some doctors used to prescribe cigarettes as if they were some type of medicine. They thought that cigarettes and smoking fixed things, like it was a healer. This will get your mind off smoking and make you feel the effects of smoking. Trust me, you will not want to light up after a long day spent at the gym. Its hard to quit, but you have to keep in mind the reason why you are quitting.

Not smoking is tough. It really is a battle. Doing it cold turkey is not fun. But in the long run you have a better chance sticking with it. Nicotine is a physical addiction. Your body needs it after having it for so long. The withdrawals last physically between four to seven days. Then the mind and psychological addiction will last for two weeks to a month. It all depends on the smoker.

With NRT it makes it easier to quit during the first few days, over time the practice is more drawn out. I’ve seen many success stories with the help of NRT. Some people are different, and its not for everyone. Just because one method doesn’t work for you, doesn’t mean quitting can’t work for you.
