SLU compares two treatments for lung cancer

St. Louis University researchers are comparing two standard treatments for lung cancer — one that uses surgery to remove the tumor and another that delivers high, focused doses of radiation with a robot.
The clinical trial will compare the three-year survival rate of patients who have a lobectomy with those who use the radiation treatment with the robotic CyberKnife. Participants must have early-stage non-small cell lung cancer, the most common form of lung cancer.
